A hip scarf is also
essential for most costumes. Medium to heavy cotton is the suggested fabric. Do
not use stretch fabric or you might find your scarf slipping off.
Start with one square yard of fabric and cut it
in half

Cut one of the halves in half
Sew
the two quarters on to the half making a scarf two yards long

Hem all the way around.

Sew three rows of fringe on the one-yard
section and a row of fringe on each end.
Fold the scarf in half lengthwise and tie it
in front with a square knot
